Audrey Tan earned her JD from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southern California Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. She received her BA in History from Yale University.
Prior to joining SeltzerFontaine LLC, Audrey practiced law for over ten years at both a major global law firm and a global entertainment company. Audrey’s experience has provided her with the ability to advise attorneys at all levels on their career goals, whether they are contemplating a lateral law firm or in-house move. She also understands the needs of law firms and organizations seeking to hire top-tier lawyers and professionals.
Audrey began her legal career as a federal law clerk for the Honorable James V. Selna in the Central District of California. She then joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP as a litigation and white collar investigations associate, representing multinational organizations in high-stakes litigation and internal investigations. While at the law firm, Audrey received several awards and recognition for her work in securities litigation and shareholder class actions and maintained a dedicated pro bono practice. Audrey actively participated in firm recruiting and diversity initiatives, including serving as associate chair for the Asian-American Affinity Group for the LA office.
After five years at Gibson Dunn, Audrey joined Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. as an in-house attorney in its ethics and legal compliance team. As Assistant General Counsel, Ethics & Legal Compliance, Audrey oversaw the development and implementation of the studio’s global compliance program and counseled business stakeholders on compliance risks across all territories. In her five years at Sony Pictures, Audrey worked on a broad range of high-stakes, cross-functional legal, business, and operational matters and received great insight into the fundamental role that in-house legal departments play in supporting companies’ objectives and goals.
